Japan Fans presents: a virtual concert by Yutaro Ogida

Born in Tokyo in 1970, Yutaro spent his early years in New York before moving to London for high school, where he discovered his passion for playing the guitar.

In the 1990s, Yutaro returned to Japan and joined The Roots Band, an Afrorock group led by Wouassi Vincent. He also lent his skills as a session musician to various artists, including Kishidan, Seikimatsu, and Red Warriors’ Shake. Yutaro’s involvement in Genshishinbo helped establish him as a prominent figure in the Japanese music scene.

Over the years, Yutaro has performed at various events, including Japan’s largest rock festival, Fuji Rock Festival, in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he supported the likes of Camel and Steve Hackett (Genesis) at the Progressive Rock Fes. As a solo artist, he began his singer-songwriter career in 2011, following the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake. He released his first EP “I AM” in 2016, and his second EP “I SING” in 2019, which led to him playing 180 shows that year.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Yutaro continued to perform by live streaming over 100 shows on YouTube from his home studio, “Flower Studio.” In 2021, he released his first full album, “I FEEL,” which garnered critical acclaim from fans and music critics alike.
