Japanese Cooking and Baking Workshops

If you love Japanese cuisine and live in the Utrecht area, you can join our Japanese Cooking and Baking Workshops in Utrecht!

In short: everybody is welcome at the Japan Fans workshops (see our Mission & Vision). We keep costs low, you only pay for your own ingredients (and we usually get a discount at the toko) and always make some extra to donate to the homeless shelter. It is great fun and you will make new friends that also love Japanese art and culture.

An Inclusive & Affordable Way to Learn Japanese Cooking & Baking

If you’re looking for a fun and affordable way to learn the art of Japanese cooking and baking, the Japan Fans workshops in Utrecht are the perfect choice. Not only are they accessible to all (wheelchair-friendly, neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ safe), the cost of ingredients used in the workshop is kept low (you only pay for your own ingredients). Moreover, the organizers always make sure to cook/bake some extras to donate to a homeless shelter.

The Japanese Cooking and Baking Workshops focus on teaching traditional Japanese recipes and techniques. From sushi to ramen, you’ll become an expert in all things Japanese cuisine. And you don’t even have to be a professional chef to join in – all skill levels are welcome.

Teachers of the Japanese Cooking and Baking Workshops

During the workshops, you’ll be guided by experienced chefs who understand the culture and cuisine of Japan. With their help, you’ll learn the Japanese way of cooking, from the presentation to the flavour. Every workshop is guided by an experienced cook and cooking teacher from Japan, who has learned Japanese cooking and baking in the country itself.

During the workshops, you’ll be taught traditional Japanese recipes, as well as variations on them, that are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Plus, you’ll also learn about Japanese culture, with lectures and discussions about the history and culture of Japan!

Make new friends who also love Japanese Arts & Culture

Not only is the workshop a great way to learn about Japanese cooking and baking, but it’s also an excellent opportunity to make new friends who share your love for Japanese art and culture. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming, allowing everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed.

So if you’re looking for a fun and educational way to spend your time, why not consider joining one of the Japanese Cooking and Baking Workshops in Utrecht? The atmosphere is inclusive, the cost is affordable, and the knowledge you’ll gain is priceless. Plus, you’ll get to make new friends and enjoy some delicious Japanese dishes. What’s not to love?

Most of the time, we use the large communal kitchen in Buurthuis Rosa. Of course, this might change when we open our own Japanese Cultural Centre, but for now, we are quite happy with our location!
